Making Affordable Housing a Priority

With Denver's population growth rate in the top 20 in the nation, NewDEAL Leader Denver Mayor Michael Hancock this summer proposed a plan to create 6,000 affordable housing units in the city over the next 10 years. The Mayor created an Office of HOPE -- Housing and Opportunities for People Everywhere, and has proposed the City's first dedicated, permanent funding stream for affordable housing. Learn more about the proposal, including the Mayor's strategies to finance and incentivize construction, and about some of the projects already coming online.
