A bill from NewDEAL Leader Dallas, TX Representative Eric Johnson was signed into law this week, making it illegal to punish pre-K to 2nd grade students with out-of-school suspension except in select extreme cases. Research shows that students suspended at a young age are more likely to drop out of high school, face incarceration, and repeat grades.
