Telling her colleagues that "no matter what happens at the federal level, our state shouldn’t go backwards," NewDEAL Leader Connecticut Representative Cristin McCarthy Vahey is co-sponsoring legislation to ensure that health insurance plans continue covering the 10 essential health benefits despite efforts by Congress and the Trump Administration to roll back protections from the Affordable Care Act. The bill also protects access to birth control and expands coverage to contraception.
