Pro-Growth Progressive Idea: Using “return on investment” measurements to compare which public investments make the best impact with taxpayer dollars

Senator Melisa Franzen was first elected in 2012 to the southwest Twin Cities metropolitan area. Melisa grew up in Puerto Rico and is currently an attorney at Target Corporation. She has served on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys, as President of Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association, and founder of her law school’s Student Endowment Fund Scholarship.

Melisa is a strong advocacy for quality early childhood education, ensuring a well-trained educated workforce, and closing the achievement gap. She also advocates for making sustainable investments in transportation infrastructure. Her key policy interest is her work in health care policy, motivated by her belief that access to health care should be affordable, transparent and accountable to the patient.
